Moroccan romanticism

One of my favorite designs, Vineet Bahl (he also retails at Anthropologie by the way!) showcased a collection inspired by his stay at The Royal Mansour luxury hotel in Marrakesh. Just lovely, wouldn’t ya agree?!

Suhaag

Indian women wear bangles as a symbol of good luck and part of tradition. In certain families to this day, it is considered inauspicious, to have a married woman’s arms bereft of any colorful adornment. Green glass bangles are seen as a symbol of suhaag (husband).

A crazy jungle hathi

A whole lot of craziness but the House of Boucheron‘s Crazy Jungle Hathi watch collection is undoubtedly an unforgettable piece of craftsmanship. This timepiece gets its moniker from the Hindi word for elephant (hathi) and is inspired by the ceremonial elephants used by Indian royalty back in the day.

Over the rainbow

A Mardi-Gras parade’s worth of bling catapults the “wow” factor of these pieces to 100 on a scale of one to ten. Picture that corset with a french chiffon sari for a cocktail evening or your pre-wedding celebration. Gorgeousness guaranteed.

A jewel and crystal mini skirt from Dolce & Gabbana fall 2011 paired with a delicate sheer lace dress from Alberta Ferretti.

Also from Dolce & Gabbana, a stunning corset encrusted with a treasure trove of crystals. Seen in recent magazine editorials and covers, the original doesn’t seem to be available but there is an extremely similar stretch-tulle bustier on Net-A-Porter for a whopping $13,760.

Shoesday

Apart from the unsightly ‘sock marks’, all that shoe-bling in the Nina Ricci Fall 2012 Ready-To-Wear collection is stunning… and reminds me of fancy indian payals (anklets)!
