Italy asks very little of a designer — the terrace, the lake, the light at eight in the evening are already the whole story. Our work here is mostly restraint: choosing the villa that frames the water properly, and then getting out of its way.
We build these weekends as a slow sequence. An arrival dinner where nobody checks the time, a ceremony timed to the hour the hills go gold, and a long table that runs the length of a terrace with the lake just beyond the candlelight.
